These images form a small part of an ongoing documentary project I'm undertaking at Braesteads Farm in Patterdale, Cumbria. Braesteads has been a working hill farm for over 200 years but today is managed by Paul Renison, a modern-day Shepherd. I'm documenting work and life on the farm, and the symbiotic relationship that exists between farmers, their animals and the landscape. I've also produced a printed photo book and multimedia video. The project has also been exhibited at the International Orange Photography Festival, China, as part of the Voices exhibition at The People's History Museum, Manchester, and at Liverpool's Look 2011 photography festival. It's also been published as an article by Lancashire Life and Cumbria Life magazines. |
